Originally born in Long Beach, CA to a proud family of Polynesian heritage, Ala was raised in Ridgecrest, CA, a small town in the Mojave Desert. Born into a family that battles alcoholism, Ala learned to be independent at a very young age. Although struggling through much of his early secondary education, Ala found Theatre in high school to be his salvation and passion. After graduating his senior year with straight A's and numerous scholarships, Ala moved to Carlsbad, CA to pursue musical theatre and a college education in "the big city." He trained extensively for four years at MiraCosta Community College while simultaneously applying his new skills in the professional field at local regional theaters.

In the summer of 2017, Ala had the honor of being cast as one of eight local San Diego performers at the award-winning Old Globe Theatre. The production of Guys & Dolls was a scouted remount from Florida's renowned Asolo Repertory Theatre, full of NY-based Broadway veterans (and newbie Ala from lil' ol' Ridgecrest)!

Ala recently graduated from CSU Fullerton with a BA in Theatre: Applied Studies. He is a first-generation college student and earned distinction amongst his class as Cum Laude (3.5+ GPA). He can be seen performing at Disneyland's Fantasyland Theatre in Mickey and the Magical Map as Sebastian and a dancer--his first AGVA union contract!
